Joseph Amodeo is the owner and principal consultant of Amodeo Vocational Consulting Inc. He has over 13 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, disability services, and talent development.

His expertise encompasses various sectors, levels of experience, and jobs, each with diverse skill, education, ability, and experience requirements. This wealth of experience has allowed him to gain a comprehensive understanding of the working conditions and physical demands across various occupations. He is adept at evaluating the specific vocational impact of impairments on an individual's ability to work, considering the nuanced requirements and challenges posed by different job roles and environments. This deep understanding empowers him to provide detailed and clear insights into how impairments may intersect with the demands of specific occupations, offering valuable perspectives on an individual's vocational capabilities.

His academic training, ongoing professional development, and continuing education have equipped him with the knowledge and skills to effectively use job analysis and other methods commonly employed by vocational rehabilitation counselors to identify suitable job opportunities for individuals with disabilities. This comprehensive understanding has been further enhanced by his direct involvement in placing individuals with disabilities into competitive integrated employment, allowing him to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Joseph is knowledgeable about the existence and numbers of jobs at all exertional levels in the national economy, using and consulting relevant data sources such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics, SkillTran, O*Net, and other relevant labor market statistics sources. This multidimensional approach to labor market analysis allows him to stay informed and up to date with the latest trends, job market demands, and vocational opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Furthermore, his knowledge is continuously enriched and refined through his doctoral studies in human resource development at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This academic pursuit ensures that he remains at the forefront of understanding the evolving dynamics of the job market, equipping him with the insights needed to provide valuable guidance and well-informed assessments of vocational opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

His commitment to continuous learning is evident in his additional studies. He is currently pursuing the Vocational Evaluation Forensic Certificate program at Auburn University, supported by a full scholarship funded by the Rehabilitation Services Administration. Additionally, he is completing an Advanced Practice Certificate in Life Care Planning through Thomas Jefferson University.
